Logo Design-band logo

Designed the logo for my friend's band. Check them out here!
Below is the final design and below that the final 2 designs.

I was inspired by their name and liked then idea of a road sign. I also wanted it to be instantly recognisable and simple with limited colours to work on any background. I also did a mock up to see how it would work on a drum skin.

I love these guys!

Just wanted to do a McBusted sketch and even though this is really quick, rough, inaccurate and not as polished as my usual work but I kind of like how it turned out, depry expressions and all.

My entries for the Tiger Print "The Colour of Love" surface pattern competition. The competition asked entrants to come up a surface pattern design themed around love with a new colour scheme. Mine were inspired by hugs and kisses and the Beyonce song, "XO"

Beyonce XO portrait

Quick portrait of Beyonce. I'm not really a Beyonce fan but after watching her documentry "Life is but a dream" I have a respect an admiration for how passionate she is about her work and her positive attitude about life.

I really like her new song "XO" too. It's very upbeat and fun!

Partner Bonus Poster Comp

My entry for this years Partner Bonus Poster competition at work.Once again it had to reflect both Waitrose and John Lewis and include the circle for where the bonus result will be printed. Thought I'd go for pattern this time, simple yet decorative.

(Also if anyone know of any better/easier ways for creating a repeat pattern, please let me know)

Creative Work Experience

Been thinking a lot about getting some sort of creative, illustration/design based work experience lately. It's something I've wanted to do for a while but kept procrastinating about, mainly out of self doubt and fear.
It's also something I could really do with if I ever want to work in a creative field or as a freelancer. I haven't decided yet, all I know is I have 0 commercial experience.

So this week I have been re-designing my CV this week, and writing some cover letters for some local creative companies to inquire about it. It's a small step but it's a start!
If anyone has any helpful tips or advice about this subject I would love to hear it, so please feel free to tweet or message me!

Also here some recent sketch book doodles:

while flipping through the latest copy of Glamour Mag

Drew this after seeing "Frozen". Good film, I recommend seeing it,                                                               especially if you're a Disney fan like me!

First image of the year! I'm starting this year a stone and 4 pounds lighter and feeling much better for it!
